Productivity is output divided by the work hours used to produce it. Better tools, skills, technology and ways of working can help us produce more in the same time. The measure is about the production system as a whole; it is not a score for how hard individual people work.
Whole-economy output per hour was unchanged in the June quarter and 0.2% lower than a year earlier. One quarter can be noisy. The longer history helps put short-term movements in perspective.
